© 2010 admin Goodbye Rome! Off to Portugal tomorrow!

day 9, dec 25th

We got to bed around 3am last night, so slept in until noon:) Today we dedicated ourselves to being lazy! We knew that many places would be closed, so were happy to grab some pizza and pasta to go at Panella l’arte del Pane. We also stopped off at another pasticcerie to pick up some sweets for breakfast tomorrow- an awesome canoli! We spent the rest of the afternoon watching movies on the ipad, as there were no English channels on TV.  We enjoyed making calls home to our families to wish them all a Merry Christmas before celebrating our last night in Rome with dinner at the highly recommended La Taverna dei Monti. Marshall was intrigued and fascinated (so was I) by the lemon sorbet in the carved out frozen lemon. Hope everyone had a great holiday!

The pasticcerie with great canolis! In the reflection of the window, you can cas see the church we visited on Christmas Eve.

Lots of great sweets!

A cake that cost 150 euros!

Lemon sorbet

Marshall is fascinated:)

The restarant gives all of their guests a licor called limoncello at the end of their meal. If you ask me, it totally tasted like lemon pledge- eww!
