day 5, dec 21st

Today is our last day in Geneva and we ended with an enjoyable lazy morning at the house before heading to the airport. We had an amazing time in Geneva. This city is beautiful and it was nice to have our own personal tour guides- no thinking or French required- just sitting back, enjoying the scenery and having fun with friends! Ellena was so sweet to escort us back to the airport to help us navigate our check-in. For our inter-Europe flights, we booked with EasyJet. It was cheap, and now we know why! There are no frills with this airline and no organization either; but, who can complain with cheap tickets? They don’t offer any boarding categories so we accidentally jumped the queue thinking we were boarding with the first group. Not the case, whenever someone starts forming the line at the gate, all seem to follow. That could easily mean that you are standing in line for over an hour if someone starts the queue that early. It was an easy and short flight to our next destination, Rome. Our hotel in Rome, Una Hotel Roma, was in a great location just a block off of the main train/metro/bus station of Termini. That evening, we made it out to see the Colosseum- we were excited to see it lit up by the full moon, followed by dinner at the oldest pizzeria in Rome, Est! Est! Est!, also known as Da Ricci. We got lost a few times on the way (you’ll see that this is a trend for our trip), but enjoyed great pizza, huge Peroni beers and some Italian desserts. Our walk back to the hotel included a brightly lit Plaza de Republic. First impressions of Rome- everywhere you turn is a picture worthy moment!
